What is the Difference between Belleville Disc Springs and Coil Springs?

A Belleville disc spring is a conical-shaped spring shaped like a washer. Compared to a coil spring, a Belleville spring needs much less installation space than the coil spring under the same working condition.

For example, a spring in one working condition required 1800N load with deflection 14.6mm. As the drawing below, both the coil spring and disc spring stack can meet the requirement, the required volume of the Belleville disc springs stack is about 27.8 cm3 , but the coil spring requires 142.6 cm3
